Northern State - Part 2

Would of been a nice picture if I wasn't in it!

Aubrey... is the cutest girl I know, but I tend to say that to any little kid....
A picture within a picture..... (I was standing inside of the barn and snapped this through the window)
Such a pretty smile
Like mother, like daughter
Love her face expression here
Aubrey really liked the leaves
Now this gate was PRIME for photos!
And yes, Aubrey wanted me to be in a picture too..... :-P

Thank you Mindy for such a wonderful day!

Northern State - Part 1

Ah.. nothing like a walk through the forest
It looked like it was going to rain, but thankfully It held off
I just love thistles... photographing them, that is
The entrance into the park
Old barn number 1
I think it would be fun to grab an easel, sit back and paint all afternoon...
Old barn number 2
I'm thinking this is the place where I want to have my senior photos taken..... so many neat set-ups!
I think if I stood in this spot much longer the old doors would of fallen off.....
The trail keeps on going and going.....
No idea what these last two macro shots are of, but MAN were they an interesting subject matter!!!  So unusual.
Today was a great day.... because..... I spend the whole afternoon taking pictures. Our neighbour picked me up and we headed to Northern State Park, a new park just 10 minutes down the road. There is this trail through an open field that goes on and on....  Old barns, creeks, open meadow, old trees, woods, and even more barns all catch my eye when I step out of the car door! We spent a few hours meandering around. I took a good 475 pictures. Definitely had a tough time trying to decide which ones to post. This is just part 1.... so lookout for more pics.
P.S. If any of my VP friends ever come and visit me.... we're going to this place to do a photoshoot. :-P

Not one photo turned out the way I wanted it to today. Some days are just like that I guess. Here are a few of the okay ones...  Well at least I had fun snapping away.  These were all taken by a Nikon D3000. The Canon is currently unavailable today, as my sister is away using it. :( My grandma was nice enough to let me use hers.

I just love this time of year! For many many reasons..... Hot tea, cool breezes, warm scarfs, sweaters,  all the harvesting that is going on, the smell of an apple pie baking in the oven, the vibrant colors, cinnamon, apple cider,  the crackling of the fire, great books,  the approaching of winter break from school and of course the great photography opportunity fall brings! What are a few things you enjoy most about fall?

Have a wonderful week!

A Tag

So apparently I was tagged by Miss Valentine

Grab the book nearest to you, turn to page 18, find line 4. Write down what it says:

"To multiply two fractions, multiply numerator times numerator to obtain the numerator of the product; multiply denominator times denominator to obtain the denominator of the product."  It's a math book.

Stretch your left arm out as far as you can. What do you touch first?

My calculator.

What is the last thing you watched on TV?

We don't have TV.

WITHOUT LOOKING, guess what time it is:
3 pm

Now look at the clock, what is the actual time?

With the exception of the computer, what can you hear?

The noisy wash machine...

When did you last step outside? What were you doing?

30 minutes ago or so... just got home...

Before you came to this website, what did you look at?

My email

What are you wearing?

The usual

Did you dream last night?

Yeah! So many different ones - I can't even recall what they were about.

When did you last laugh?

Just in the car not to long ago.

What is on the walls of the room you are in?
green walls and lots of artwork

Seen anything weird lately?

What is the last film you saw?

Gee I haven't seen a movie in such a long time.... I think it was on the Galapagos Islands.

If you became a multi-millionaire overnight, what would you buy first?

To switch the question around.... What would I do? I'd pay off my parents mortgage, then I'd travel the world.

Tell me something about you that I don't know:

I've never been stung by a bee, nor have I ever broken a bone -  thank the Lord.

Do you like to dance?

Truthfully, I don't know how. I'd love to learn!

Imagine your first child is a girl, what do you call her? What if it's a boy?

Girl:  Elizabeth Rose

Boy: Samuel William

Okay,  so I tag Emily! :)

Fall is Here!

"There is no season when such pleasant and sunny spots may be lighted on, and produce so pleasant an effect on
the feelings, as now in October."

Miscellaneous Pictures and Quotes!

Nature never goes out of style.  ~Author Unknown
Sometimes I do get to places just when God's ready to have somebody click the shutter.  ~Ansel Adams
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.  ~George Washington Carver
I think that eventually every nature lover becomes a nature photographer..... because they truly do appreciate the natural surroundings....
A picture is worth a thousand words.....
A photograph is usually looked at - seldom looked into.  ~Ansel Adams
I think a photography class should be a requirement in all educational programs because it makes you see the world rather than just look at it.  ~Author Unknown

There is nothing I find more enjoyable in this whole entire world then to spend the day out in nature photographing what it has to offer! I mean, there is a constant show going on right outside your doors.  The flow of a stream, the birds flitting by, the change of the light across the meadow, the sudden change in a sunrise or a sunset, a lightning and thunderstorm, the sound of rain drops on the window/roof, the grass blowing in the breeze... I could go on and on. Nature is God's canvas. And it's an amazing one!  So why not capture what it has for us? Just think about how great the invention of the camera was? Almost everyone you see walking down the street has some sort of camera on hand; whether is be a phone camera, a film camera, a dslr, a point & shoot....  It really makes me smile when I see someone taking the time to capture that moment.

Every picture has a story.....
