Whenever I have spare time I'm always diving into these sort of books
This week I'm getting ready for my very first Photography Show!!! I am just exhilarated. I never even dreamed of being in a show until at least my early 20's. So how it all started.... in case you may be wondering... My mom was invited to a holiday party a few weeks ago. She wanted me to tag along with her... The reason? There was going to be a portrait photographer there. Mom thought it would be nice for me to talk with her. I didn't particularly want to go. I was busy... After some hesitation I finally decided I'd go. It was also a very nice break from my homework. After a nice long chat with this women, I forgot her name, sorry! She was telling me about this photography show that is happening near the end of November, and that I may be interested in attending to meet some local professional photographers. We exchanged contact info, so that way we could keep in touch. The really amazing part is this! Just as we were walking out the door to leave, the lady in charge of this photography show came in the door. This was completely unexpected too! The women that I exchanged information with told me to stay.... because this was the lady I needed to talk too. After a great conversation --- It turned out that rather then attending the show, I was going to be IN the show!
I suppose you can guess what I've been up to these last few weeks, right? Figuring out which pictures I want to sell, printing pictures, deciding how many of each photo I want, deciding on how many different sizes to order, purchasing mats and frames, signing EACH photograph, ordering business cards... The list just goes on..... I have to say a huge thank you to my wonderful mother! She has helped me tremendously with all this. I couldn't do it without you. Also, thank you grandma and grandpa for helping me with the costs. Here are a few pictures of a work in process. |
